Now, Sri City gets a golf driving range
A new golf driving range with modern facilities was opened by Masayuki Taga, the Consul General of Japan, at Sri City in Chittoor district. The Consul General declared the driving range inaugurated by teeing off the ball.

Hyderabad: A new golf driving range with modern facilities was opened by Masayuki Taga, the Consul General of Japan, at Sri City in Chittoor district. The Consul General declared the driving range inaugurated by teeing off the ball.
Welcoming the guests, Principal Advisor to the Andhra Pradesh Government, Ravindra Sannareddy and Founder MD, Sri City said, "As part of providing leisure infrastructure, we have developed this golf practicing arena. We want the expats, executives of industries, students of educational institutions to regularly make use of the facility and improve skills."
Stating that golf is a popular sport in Japan, Masayuki Taga thanked the Sri City management for bringing it closer to the Japanese expats there. He said it was a welcome development to bring the sport to the business city, and lauded the efforts of Sri City for making good progress in setting up social infrastructure.
Referring to some of the schemes of the Union Government that aim at promoting sports, and the new opportunities being created Ishwar Achanta, Treasurer, Indian Golf Union, said people should make use of such facilities and improve proficiency in sports and games. Appreciating Sri City's efforts, he expressed confidence that the Sri City golf course will soon become one of the best courses in the country.
A host of senior executives of industrial units were present.
SP Sharma, Consultant, Sri City, who is a golfer himself, coordinated the works related to setting up the golf driving range.
It is spread over 10 acres, surrounded by scenic greenery and natural water bodies. The golf driving range offers a good opportunity to beginners to learn the basics. The facility will be managed by a team of professional golfers.
